Wesley Nurse

Hi Church Family,
Where did the month of April go? The year is flying by so fast! I have loved seeing all the flowers and
green grass. So refreshing!
Do you pray about the work that you do? We pray for others and for our own needs, but do we pray
about our work? Even if you are volunteering or working at your job, reach out to God and ask Him to
glorify your work to honor Him. Don’t forget to listen and hear His calling. I am asking God to watch over
my Wesley Nurse practice and to bring the people who need me into my path. I would love for you all to
pray for me as well.
The Diabetic Education and Support Group held its 2nd monthly meeting with an attendance of 6
participants. We had 3 new members join so that was exciting. DeeAnn Hill a Holistic Nutritionist and
owner of Wellness with Dee joined us and led an extremely informative discussion about reading
nutrition labels and how the labels have changed recently. The participants along with myself learned
several new things and the importance of reading the ingredients list to find hidden sugars. DeeAnn will
be coming back soon to offer more nutrition education to the group, and anyone is welcome to attend.
We normally meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon in the Recreation Room, however, May’s
meeting will be held on May 16th . Please feel free to join us!
The Health Ministry team did not meet in April but will meet again this month. We had a great
discussion and have several ideas we are tossing around to better serve the homeless population which
continues to grow. I am looking forward to assisting with Backpacks and Blue Jeans this year!
My practice continues to flourish! I feel extremely blessed to be able to bless others! I had a total of 68
patient encounters for March and as of April 25 th , I have had 51. I continue to see a great need for
prescription assistance, referrals to specialists, doctor’s co-pays, gas cards, and always food and diapers.
I spend a great deal of time assisting clients with simply navigating the healthcare system and finding
appropriate providers.
Do you need to exercise more? I know I sure do! I am excited about collaborating with Maggie Allen to
start up a Senior-cise exercise class. We recently visited the class in Sinton that has a 12-year history,
and we are basing our class off theirs. Stretching, strength, balance, heart health, and fun will be
included for FREE! Modifications will be offered for any injury or limitations you may have. We will meet
on Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Everyone is invited to attend whether you are 30 or 97! Stay tuned for room
location.
I will be out of the office from May 9th through 12th for Wesley Nurse Forum in San Antonio but you can
always reach my on my cell phone 210-455-1409.
I am always open for your input and ideas that will better help me serve the community and
congregation. Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers. They are appreciated
more than you know.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish
the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17 ESV
