The Health Ministry team will be having a special called meeting this month as we did not meet last
month. We are working on an event to provide FREE haircuts to our ever-growing homeless population.
So many times, these individuals simply need assistance for a few months to get back on their feet. For
example, I had a client who was living in his car, showering at the beach, and unable to find
employment. I was able to help him see a doctor, get back on his prescription medications, and in less
than 4 months, he had housing and was the employee of the month at his new job.
Thanks be to God!
I am looking forward to assisting with Backpacks and Blue Jeans this year! The date is set for August 5 th .
Also, along with Maggie Allen, we have started a Seniorcise chair exercise class on Tuesdays at 10:00 am
in Education rooms 13-14. This is a DVD led chair class that offers modifications for everyone. After the
exercise portion of class, we are also watching short educational videos related to stroke, high blood
pressure, etc. that have been well received. We have been having a great turn out and are having a lot
of fun. I hope you can join us soon!
My practice continues to grow! I feel extremely blessed to be able to bless others! I had a total of 65
patient encounters for April and 89 encounters for May. I continue to see a great need for prescription
assistance, gas cards, and always food and diapers. I spend a great deal of time assisting clients with
navigating the healthcare system and finding affordable providers.
I try to keep canned goods with pop tops in my office in case of an emergency and would appreciate
any donations of those. Also, I would love to have mosquito spray and sunscreen to share.
Coming soon: Friends and Family CPR class. I will let you know more about this when I get everything
finalized.
As always, I am open for your input and ideas that will better help me serve the community and
congregation. Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers. They are appreciated
more than you know.
