Philosophy of FLT
Our purpose at First Learning Tree is to foster both intellectual and spiritual development in young children. Our creative phliosophy of learning not only develops, but also maintains knowledge and understanding of childhood experiences. We believe in building a foundation which combines physical and academic skills with healthy and positive dispositions. Our trained educators and modern facilities enable us to support children's needs and model positive responses to life situations. We offer daily lesson plans in math, science, art, music with a strong emphasis on literacy to prepare children to become successful students. "Chapel Time" and "Story Lady" also contribute to fun and personal enrichment. The small classroom ratios, dedicated staff, and nutritious USDA-approved meals provide children with a comfortable, nurturing, and safe environment.
Our goals for your child's development are:
Knowledge and Understanding- during these early years, knowledge consists of a variety of experiences: vocabulary, books, concepts, music, and the influence of their own culture. Our goal is for these children to understand what they are learning.
Skills- skills are developed by direct instructions or by observing others and applying what they see.
Dispostions- these are tendencies that children react to in certain situations. These are not learned but aquired by observing others being friendly, curious, and helpful.
With our guidance, our students will aquire knowledge, understanding, skills and the dispositions that will enable them to be successful in school.
