Missions
First United Methodist of Rockport is dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate in our community. There are many local organization that are supported by the members of FUMC.
Good Samaritans This organization accepts donations of food and money in order to provide food, rent assistance, and utility payments to identified needy. Church members have an opportunity to volunteer time in the pantry, reception area or work directly with the client assessing needs. Food donations are collected regularly at the church.
Habitat for Humanity A number of our members take an active part in building homes for persons who are willing to help themselves by spending their time and money in an effort to build a horne. Our members contribute time and money to help build homes alongside these individuals.
Castaways Many FUMC members spend 2 or 3 hours a week volunteering at Castaways, which is an organization that accepts donations of clothing and other items and sells them at a low cost.
Wednesday is the day when our volunteers work in the back room pricing items for the store.
Thursday is "Methodist day", when volunteers from First Church work in the shop.
